American Painter, Realism
Well known in the mid 19th century for landscape, genre and portrait painting, William Winner was born in Philadelphia and remained there for most of his career except for a brief time in Charleston, South Carolina in 1848.

Exhibition venues included the Pennsylvania Academy, Boston Athenaeum and the National Academy of Design of which Winner was an honorary member.
