The first of Puigaudeau paintings which are known for us are gone back to 1886. In 1886 , Puigaudeau decides to go to Bridge-Swallow-hole, village of well-known Finistère of all the painters of Europe. Puigaudeau binds friendship with Charles Laval and Gauguin. Their relation is particularly strong since in 1887 they plan to leave all the three to Panama and Martinique. Alas Ferdinand, called Piccolo by Gauguin will not be able to join his/her friends the army convening it to carry out its national service. In 1889 , Puigaudeau goes to Belgium where he binds with various members of the group of the XX. Puigaudeau knows in particular James Ensor, Toorop, Vogels. The sculptor Constantin Meunier honours Puigaudeau with his friendship. 1890 are the year of the first presentation to the public of one of his Ïuvres to the Show of the National Company of Beautiful Arts. Thanks to his Father Puigaudeau meets for the first time Paul Durand-Ruel which exposes Puigaudeau paintings with those of Henry Delavallée. Puigaudeau Maries on August 7, 1893 in Saint-Nazaire with White Van Den Brousse, of which he will have a fore-mentioned girl Odette the following year. In spring of 1895 Puigaudeau settles for three years with Bridge-Swallow-hole. Puigaudeau attends Armand Seguin, the poet Ernest Dowson, the American painters Harrisson and Childe Hassam. Puigaudeau's production of the time: horse-gears and fun fairs inspire to him some one of his more beautiful tables. In 1897 Degas a "Fireworks" in Durand-Ruel acquires, thus begins a long friendship. This same year Puigaudeau decides to leave for midday. The family settles in a hotel in Cagnes. In spite of the assistance of Durand-Ruel Puigaudeau must separate from its family which he sends in Paris, there remains alone to work.

In the years the 1899-1900 all Puigaudeau family is established in a house with Sannois close to Paris. Then begins one of the most prosperous periods for our artist, success seems to be with go. 1903 are the year of Puigaudeau's first personal exposure to the Gallery of the Modern Artists, a small catalogue is published for the occasion. But an excessive insurance, perhaps due to success is at the origin of its rupture with Durand-Ruel. Puigaudeau then decides to leave for Venice.

For four months of the year 1904 , Puigaudeau will paint more than fifty fabrics on the reason. On his return the project of exposure, turns short. Puigaudeau is in a critical financial standing. Puigaudeau's some movable goods are seized and sold with the biddings, ruined our painter must leave Paris. The family folds up itself in the village of the Borough of Batz in the Loire Atlantique or of the friends an austere villa to them "Strong Hikerik lends". Puigaudeau is seized again, finds a new merchant in Nantes (Préaubert), exposes in various regional Shows. At the end of 1907, Puigaudeau rents the manor of Kervaudu under very advantageous conditions: a little money and a table per annum. Thus starts a new existence, Puigaudeau settles definitively in almost the island guérandaise where he will live until its death. Kervaudu becomes the place of meeting of all the friends of Puigaudeau: the painters Emile Dezaunay, Alexis de Broca, Jean-Emile Ploughman, the writer Alphonse de Chateaubriant.

From 1909 , Puigaudeau gives up of fun fair and horse-gear. Puigaudeau takes part in the foundation of the artistic group of Saint-Nazaire en1913. The large war of 1914 isolated him from the rest of the world. His withdrawn existence of the world and recluse will be worth to him to be called by Degas "the hermit of Kervaudu". However in 1919 a great project of exposure agitates our painter, a Nantais industrialist: he proposes to organize a great presentation of his works in New York. Finally the occasion of an international fame arises. During four years Puigaudeau provides more than 60 paintings, however the project does not advance and is cancelled. This failure has terrible effects on the moral one of our painter who sinks in a semi-depressive state and alcoholism. The existence is particularly precarious.
In 1924 illustrations of the novels with success of Alphonse de Chateaubriant: Brière occupies it a few months, alas those will never be born. The five last years of the life of Ferdinand Of Puigaudeau seems to have been particularly sad, only his painting bringing urgent briefs of joy to him. Puigaudeau dies on 19 September 1930 surrounded by his wife and her daughter.
