Parmigianino Biography
Unnaturalistic, icy, and intellectual, Parmigianino is the stylistic opposite to Correggio. Their coexistence in the same town made Parma in the 1520s one of the chief centers of sixteen century art. Parmigianini's talent developed at a precocious age and he quickly rivaled Correggio, whom he admired, by putting himself forward as the exponent of Mannerism.
