August Wilhelm Leu Biography

August Wilhelm Leu was born in 1819 in Germany, he trained at the Dusseldorf Academy of Fine Arts where he refined his technique for Landscapes. During his lifetime he travelled extensively in Norway, Austria and Italy capturing breathtaking Landscapes. Leu became a member of the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts where he later became a professor. He was given Honourable Mentions in the Exposition Universelles in 1855, 1863 and 1878. Leu?s work is in museums throughout Europe.
