The Ninth Wave
This dramatic reproduction of the Aivazovsky's most popular painting, depicting a sea storm with the survivors from a shipwreck, known as 'The Ninth Wave' (1850), conveys all the dramatism and sea horror, for which Aivazovsky was so famous. The original canvas is in the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Aivazovsky also made many variations and repetitions of " The Ninth Wave ", as well, as of his other popular paintings.
