Bit by bit the whole picture becomes clearer . Now the so called velatures may be applied at some areas and the colors deepen and get saturated. There are still parts of the oil painting where the white canvas may be seen, but this is done deliberately and such parts are used by the painter to rest his hand , while painting in order to extract maximum detail from the working area.
