Description

Two Australian oil paintings considered to be the first in the country have been found at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. The canvases, showing groups of kangaroos in a landscape, were unearthed by an academic in the collection of the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College. They are believed to have been painted between 1800, when by artist John Lewin.
