OIL PAINTING: Nymphe Avec Puttis [Nymph with Cupids]
Seignac was painting in the French realist tradition begun by Breton and Millet. Seignac painted genre scenes, usually on small mahogany panels, depicting appealing interior scenes with children. His subjects are sensitively portrayed and exquisitely painted using beautiful lighting effects and soft colours. Other contemporary artists painting in Seignac's style were Edouard Frere, Duverger and Dargelas all of whom were popular.
