OIL PAINTING: Girl Standing at the Window, 1925
In 1925 Dali had his first one-man exhibition, at the Dalmau Gallery in Barcelona. This included works in a classical style as well as Cubist and Purist paintings.
Despite this stylistic incoherence it was a critical success: one reviewer hailed the artist as greatly gifted, singling out the realist "Girl Standing at the Window" for particular praise. Perhaps more importantly, the show was seen and admired by both Miro and Picasso.
