Claude Monet Paintings
Pink Water-Lilies , 1897
Oil on canvas
Galleria Nazionale d"Arte Moderna - Rome (Italy)
Monet's late water lily series of paintings realized a long quest to work from life, on a mural-sized scale. Monet also made them open compositions, meaning that the painting and the space seemed to continue beyond the four edges of the canvas - a modern tendency, and that there was free movement between the forms in the painting.
